I am most honored to have my research receive the 28th pacific Academic grant of publication from the Massayoshi Ohira memorial foundation. First. I would like to thank the foundation’s Board of trustee, selection committee and staff. My research focused on privatized small and medium-scale enterprises. In the 1990s, the reform of state-owned enterprise was deepening in China , the policy of “Zhuadafangxiao” which means invigorating large enterprise while relaxing control over small and medium one’s was implemented. Therefore, privatized SMEs emerged. Such privatized SMEs are different from other Chinese private enterprises which came up in early 80’s. Most of those private enterprises are in industries which have low added value, so they have to use their family members to keep cost down, However, the privatized SMEs by contrast, have inherited technical skill, talent, and production equipment and etc. Therefore, should these privatized SME’s adopt the family style of management or should they adopt modern management style? It is be of significance to clarify these questions considering the receive the development of privatized SME’s, But we cannot receive clear solutions from previous studies . It was because that there were a lot of scandals and outflows of state-owned assets during the process of privatization. Therefore, in most case, these privatized enterprise owners refuse to investigate their management of firm. I had the opportunity to meet someone who are the owners of privatized SMEs in a research project. In order to figure out what kind of management has been done in the privatized SMEs, I keep in touch with these owners of privatized enterprise for a long time, we have built reliable relation. This survey method cost me a lot of time and energy, there were many times I almost wanted to give up my research during the course of my study. But the owners entrepreneurial spirit has encouraged me to work hard for finished my study. And this time, I am grateful to have been awarded the Masayoshi Ohira memory foundation’s prize, this prize indicate that my research method is plausible. It will encourage me to proceed to my research method which can be conducted in the real society. I would like to thank again the foundation for supporting me to publish my research.
